Questions

Asked and answered

Where does course material come from?

An AI model (from Anthropic) suggests the reading list for your topic. It draws on books, academic papers of the kind indexed by OpenAlex, Crossref and arXiv, free university lectures such as MIT OpenCourseWare and Open Yale Courses, podcasts, and long-form articles. We don’t host or sell any of it: you get each work from a library, a bookshop or wherever it’s published.

What gets checked?

Every book in a course is looked up in the Open Library catalogue. A book that isn’t found, or that couldn’t be checked, says so on the course, so you know to check it before buying. Papers, lectures, podcasts and articles aren’t checked yet.

Can I edit a course?

Not yet. You can regenerate a course as often as you like, free on every plan. Editing individual works comes later.

How is my daily reading worked out?

From your reading speed in pages an hour and your listening speed for audio and lectures, which you can change in Settings. Each sitting names the chapters or episodes it covers, where the work lists them.

Is my data shared?

Not with other learners: there are no profiles, rankings or sharing in version one. The services that run the app, such as hosting, payments and the AI model that writes reading lists, are listed in the privacy policy.

Is there a mobile app?

The iPhone and Android apps are coming soon. The web app does everything today, and the apps will use the same account. Subscriptions are sold on the web.

How do I cancel a subscription?

In the app, open Settings, then Plan & billing, and choose Manage subscription. Deleting your account also cancels any subscription bought on the web.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, from Settings in the app or on the delete account page.
